Yep, that's right, Barry Bonds tied Hank Aaron's all-time home run record today with number 755. And yes, most likely he took performing enhancing drugs. I mean if you look at his tops rookie card you could see the massive difference in his built today. In fact, Jason Giambi, who has admitted to using steroids in a recent picture with Bonds has an extremely similar physique. Call it what you want but most likely the biggest record in baseball for power hitters has been tarnished by the fact that Bonds has used these enhancements. Take the steroids aways from Bonds, and he still deserves to have a Hall of Fame career, because while in his prime he could flat out hit and field with the best of them. And who knows he might have been able to beat the record without the juice. But when you go a career stretch of hitting consistently hitting 30 and 35 home runs and then you suddenly leap to 73 in a season, some thing's got to give. And,Maybe it was the steroids that caused him to stare at the ball as he watched it leave the park and trot slowly to first base, what kind of example was he setting for Little Leaguers? Lets see, take steroids and show up the opposing picture by dropping the bat and admiring your homer. Bonds will undoubtedly go down as the greatest baseball player to ever use steroids. |
What do think about Barry Bonds tieing Hank Aarron's record?
