I'm at this barbershop that I go to in the Lower East Side getting taped up yesterday evening , and Bet's 106 & Park is on TV.
After catching up on some new videos i hadn't seen, the hosts bring out Chris Tucker who's promoting "Rush Hour 3," which comes out this Friday August, 10th.
Then i had to hear this crazy ass barber rant about how Chris Tucker is a sell out. Apparently he was a big fan of the original Friday, with Ice Cube and was disappointed Tucker wasn't in any of the the following Friday movies, such as "Next Friday," or "The Friday After Next." The barber was doing Smokey( the character Tucker played in Friday) impersonations to a tee. He had even heard a rumor that were going to do another Friday movie with Mike Epps and Tucker.
When the 106 & park host asked Tucker if there would possibly be a Rush Hour 4, he responded with " If the fans want it, then I'm down to do it." And when they asked him about him possibly appearing in another Friday movie he said that "if Cube( Ice Cube) were to come up with a good script I would be interested."
At the end of the day, I'm sure Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3 were big pay days for Tucker. Enough to make him to do Rush Hour 3, after he took a long break
After Rush Hour 2, it's like he disappeared for a couple years.
So maybe he chose bigger checks over the hood sequel... but can you blame him, he's heading to bank right now.
